Marketing Director, Advertising and Sponsorship
An internationally renowned media company is looking for a Marketing Director that is an essential asset to its sales team. Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, you will be at the forefront of the regionˇ¦s strategy for growth in advertising and sponsorship revenue. You would be responsible for a combination of in-house and outsourced agency services including strategy, brief formulation, market/client research, planning and creative services across all platforms.

The scope of the team including and managed by the Marketing Director ranges from helping to evolve the sales communications and marketing strategy to creating persuasive, innovative and differentiating client-specific communications programmes and sales materials for all relevant products and services, thus delivering competitive advantage and a key contribution to business growth.
The role demands insight and creativity, the ability to understand client needs, operational capabilities, knowledge of market trends, diplomatic skills and the ability to develop superior analytical insights along with finished good looking proposals which have a clear and compelling value proposition and that differentiate the company from the competition.
Your key responsibilities will include:
•Working closely with the sales people, the Art Director, designer, Strategy & Research Director along with other relevant staff who can provide Client Insight to:
o advise on the interpretation of client briefs,
o advise on maximising the persuasive power of sales stories,
o provide market insight and compelling data-based stories from
media research,
o innovate new ways of communicating data and sales stories,
o create persuasive, innovative and differentiating proposals,
presentations and collateral.
•Manage client communications projects from start to finish ˇV from formulating creative briefs through to final execution ˇV to deliver them on time and to budget.
•Develop a deep understanding of the different markets and customer segments in which the company operates, and of the companyˇ¦s competitive position in each of those markets and customer segments. This includes competitive tracking.
•Develop a deep understanding of the media assets of the company, and an expertise in creating proposals that integrate those assets where relevant.
•Ensure best practice, insights, ideas and successful sales projects are communicated well to sales teams and overseas offices.
•Project management on non-client-responsive projects where necessary.
•Lead weekly, quarterly and bi-annual marketing calls with Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia; as will as liaison with Japan, China, India; and represent Asia Pacific to other regions.
•Strategise and implement trade marketing campaigns
•Manage costs and help the sales director to meet or exceed budget/contribution targets.
To meet the challenge, you should have at least 12 years experience preferably working either in a media company or an advertising/communications agency. Knowledge and interest in emerging trends in the fields of media, research, marketing, advertising will be an advantage. Advanced level of computer ability and online usage in everyday life e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, data base management etc. is required. Fluent English language both spoken and written is essential.
