A newly established solar energy and high technology company is looking for a Public Affairs Manager responsible for facilitating effective communications with various audiences within and outside the Company, including employees, government regulators, media, business partners and up-scale consumers, to strengthen and maintain desired corporate image and reputation to support business growth in China.

Description :
Stationed in Hong Kong, and reporting to the Sales Director, you will:

1. Develop and implement corporate communications programs, counseling and guiding management on Public Affairs (PA) activities including media relations, issue analysis, government relations and employee communications.

2. Be on top of local economic and social issues and build strong government relations with local regulators to well position the Company, and support issues management efforts.

3. Build strong media relations to improve awareness, favorability and familiarity towards the Company particularly on environmental and energy related issues. Seek opportunities where communications can add value to sales and earnings.

4. Develop written tactical and strategic PA programs with the operating departments; recommending plans which are clearly in line with and in support of the respective short and long term business objectives.

5. Develop and implement a community relations plan and crisis communication system for all present and future manufacturing facilities in HK/China adding value to production function by reducing public opposition and maintaining a positive atmosphere in which to operate.

6. Support site managers (in HK & Shenzhen) with issue analyses and crisis management.

7. Establish and manage effective relationships with public relations and external agencies. Implement and monitor the fee system.

8. Ensure that all public affairs activities developed and implemented are fully co-ordinated and integrated with other communications strategies and activities, and that these are communicated across the relevant regional and corporate departments.

To meet the challenge, you should have at least 10 years experience in communications field (public relations, advertising, journalism) in China/HK; having worked in a technology-oriented business would be a plus. Strong influencing and negotiating skills as well as good command of English, Mandarin and Cantonese are required.
